TENNESSEE DEPT. OF HEALTH: 10 CHILDREN DEAD IN TENNESSEE FROM FLU THIS YEAR

The Tennessee Department of Health said today the number of pediatric deaths in Tennessee has risen to 10. Officials say six deaths took place in East Tennessee, three in Middle Tennessee and one in West Tennessee. Officials did not indicate if the 10 that passed away obtained a flu shot. Free flu vaccines are still available at local health departments across the state.

As of noon today, the only school system in or close to the coverage area that is closed because of the flu is Clay County (through Feb. 7, 2020).
