TENNESSSEE MAN MURDERS WIFE AND TWO DAUGHTERS, THEN KILLS SELF THIS MORNING

Metro Police provided a tragic update to a murder-suicide investigation that left a family of four dead in Goodlettsville Friday morning.

Investigators say a 32-year-old man opened fire on his family inside their home on Greer Rd. killing his 6-year-old daughter, 13-year-old daughter and 32-year-old wife before fatally turning the gun on himself.

Early Friday morning, 911 dispatchers received a call from the man they say reported that he had shot and killed his wife and daughters. While dispatchers tried to keep him on the phone, a Nashville officer in the area on his way home rushed to the scene.

Metro Police representatives say the officer tried speaking with the man, in efforts to get him to surrender. But after hearing a single gunshot at 6:38 a.m., the officer entered the home.

Police say the officer found the man with a gunshot wound, a 6-year-old girl dead in a front bedroom and a 13-year-old girl and 32-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wounds. The 13-year-old and 32-year-old still showed signs of life, so they were transported to the hospital. The 13-year-old girl died at the hospital, and the 32-year-old wife died in surgery. According to law enforcement, police had never been called to the home before Friday.
