A tentative trial date was set by a judge yesterday for a Pickett Countian charged with vehicular homicide. Back in October of last year, a 2007 Volvo XC7 driven by 39-year-old Michael Owens of Byrdstown rear ended an antique 1952 Chevrolet operated by 71-year-old Bob Allen of Cookeville on Highway 111. Allen’s vehicle left the road and flipped twice. Allen was ejected and passed away at the scene. Owens will return to court in Overton County March 24, 2021 and a scheduled trial could start May 19, 2021.
