Terry Broyles, 79

Terry Broyles 79 of Spring City passed away Sunday June 28, 2026 at his home, after a brief illness.

Terry was born May 1, 1947 to the late Roy Fred and Lois Haney Broyles. He graduated from Spring City High School and McKenzie School of Business in Chattanooga before serving his country in the U.S. Army. Terry worked as an electrician with TVA-Kingston and Watts Bar, retiring in 1995 after 25 years. He loved  woodworking and owned/operated Piney Creek Sawmill and Broyles Wood Products. Terry was a 50-year member of the Rhea Springs #310 F. & A. M. and served his community by serving on the Rhea County Commission for 12 years, representing District 1. Terry loved farming and fishing. Most recently, he and his wife Margaret volunteered at the TVA Kentucky Dam where they camped and worked at the visitor center. Terry enjoyed playing golf and flying planes, but most of all, he loved his family. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Spring City. Terry had a quiet strength and solitude.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years Margaret S. Broyles of Spring City, his children Greg (Lisa) Broyles, Terri Lynne Broyles Holmes, Jennifer (Kelley) Haynes and Thomas Sowash all of Spring City and his grandchildren Ethan Haynes, Emma Broyles, and Noah Haynes.

Funeral services will be at 2PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughn Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 12 to 2 PM.
