Terry Edward Byrd, age 68, of Oak Grove Road in Monroe, Tennessee, passed away at his home Tuesday, January 8. Funeral services will be Friday, January 11 at 1 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Monroe, with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends Friday, January 11 from 11 a.m. until the start of the service at 1 p.m. Mr. Byrd is survived by his widow, Janice Byrd; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bryan and Donna Varvel of Murfreesboro and Dustin Byrd of Cookeville. He is also survived by five sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Charles E. Smith of Monroe; Polly and Dwayne Smith of Monroe; Linda and Randall Hicks of Monroe; Lisa and Tommy Warden of Byrdstown; and Rita and Mark Bolejack of Latham, Kansas. He is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church. The Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown is in charge of arrangements.
