Tesha Collier Long, 56
Tesha Collier Long, born March 10, 1968 in Rockwood Tennessee.
Passed away on February 5th 2025 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville Tennessee.
Tesha was preceded in death by her parents, Deborah S. and Donald L. Collier.
She had four siblings: Sandra and Brian Crabtree, Kimberly and Derek Gentry, Kelley Narramore, Gabriel and Crystal Collier, all of Kingston.
She had two daughters: Brandy and Travis Smith of Kingston, Karson and Levi Craig of Powell. Brandy’s children are Dean and Liam Smith. Karson’s children are Oliver and Olivia Craig.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews: Brooke Mayes and family, Victoria Crabtree, Caleb Gentry and family, Madeline Narramore and family, Dakota Narramore, Cadence, Reese and Tatum Collier
She worked at the Property Assessors office in the Roane County courthouse as an administrative assistant for the past six months.
She was a graduate of Midway High School in 1987 and from Roane State Community College with an Associate’s degree in science.
She had an immense love of life and family. She was introduced to Topsail Island North Carolina on a family vacation in 1981 and it has been her Happy Place ever since.
Her grandchildren have been her reason for living for the past ten years. Dean and Liam lived in the same apartment complex as Tesha and were her companions most evenings and weekends. Recently, Karson added Oliver and Olivia to her life, and she had to split time at home and in Powell.
She loved beautifying her apartment complex with flowers and her vegetable garden.
Tesha was a rare individual. She had an innocent love for life that ended up with her stumbling and falling on a weekly basis. To say she was clumsy is an understatement. To know her was to love her.
She was an avid reader and tv watcher. She was one of those people who would give her last dollar even if she needed to borrow it from someone else.
Her purse was akin to Mary Poppins bag. She could pull whatever might be needed out of her purse. And that’s how she prepared it for 30 years. We would ask her to downsize for quick trips and it still turned out to be backpack size.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston. Funeral at 4:00 p.m. in the Kyker Chapel. Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston is serving the Long Family.
