Thomas Claude Ellis, Jr., age 95, of Rockwood, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. Mr. Ellis was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired after 30 years of service with Bellsouth in 1981. He is survived by his wife of 72 years: Tillie Ellis of Rockwood; sons: Thomas Charles Ellis (Rocio) of Boca Raton, Florida and Rick Ellis (Linda) of Rockwood; grandchildren: Will Wright (Tuyen) of Knoxville, Kimberly Smith (Ed) of Shelby, North Carolina, Kelley Rice (Brian) of Knoxville, and Savanna Ellis of Rockwood; great-grandchildren: Cat Vy and one baby boy due in two weeks; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, October 19, 2020 from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home in Rockwood. A memorial service will follow. A private interment will be held at a later date.
