Thomas (Tommy) Charles Edmonds, 81

Thomas (Tommy) Charles Edmonds, age 81, of Rockwood went to his heavenly home with his family by his side on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Roane Medical Center after a hard-fought courageous battle with cancer.  He didn’t let cancer dictate his life and had a positive good attitude.  He was born August 21, 1943 in Harriman and was a life-long resident of Roane County. Tommy served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era.  He was honorably discharged in March of 1969.  He was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  Tommy was a retired rural route carrier who people would often say was the best they ever had.  He loved watching Tennessee Vol and all westerns.  A simple man, always putting others before himself. Preceded in death by his parents, James (Cecil) and Juanita Edmonds of Kingston; brothers, Jerry, Terry, and Larry Edmonds; sister, Linda Sue Harper; grandson, Justin Smith.

 

Family left to cherish the many memories is wife of 61 years, Peggy Forrester Edmonds of Rockwood; daughters, Rita & Julian (Woot) Anders of Rockwood, Melinda (Sissy) & Keith Miles of Rockwood; sons, Chris & Anita Edmonds of Kingston, and Danny Edmonds of Kingston; grandchildren, Britt Wilkey, Tiffney (Jay) Tilley, Brandon & Courtney Miles, Preston (Skyler) Edmonds, Bailey & Brinley Edmonds, Taylor & Tori Hamby-Anders; great-grandchildren, Marilyn, Blakely, and Harper; brother, David & Bonnie Edmonds of Georgia; sister-in-law, Doris Edmonds of Kingston; brothers-in-law, Tom & Judy Forrester of Kingston, and Frank Forrester of Richmond, Indiana; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

 

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Fraker Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Tim Ramey and Rev. Randy Griffis officiating.  Interment will be held 11:00 am, Friday, March 28, 2025 at Kingston Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Roane County Honor Guard and Fort Campbell active military.  Online register book can be signed at www.frakerfuneralhome.net.  Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of all the arrangements.
