Around 42,000 dishwashers are under a recall alert because of a fire hazard.

It involves Cove Appliance 24-inch built-in residential dishwashers model numbers DW2450 and DW2450WS with serial numbers 20000100 through 20044445.

Five reports of the burning smells, flames and smoking inside the dishwashers prompted the recall. So far, no injuries have been reported.

The dishwashers were sold at home appliance stores across the country from February 2018 through May 2021 for between $2,400 and $2,500.

Anyone with one of the recalled dishwashers is urged to immediately stop using it, unplug it from its power source and call Cove Appliance to schedule a free repair.
