A few severe thunderstorms with damaging winds may occur today. Much colder air will move in tonight and Friday with a good chance for snow showers across the Upper Cumberland Plateau.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be strong to severe and produce heavy rainfall. High near 60. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of rain is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Rain showers likely before 5am, then a slight chance of snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Cloudy, with a low around 31. Wind gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35.

Friday Night: A slight chance of snow showers before midnight, then a chance of flurries after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 39.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.

MLK Day: A 30 percent chance of showers after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49.

Monday Night: Showers. Low around 42. Chance of rain is 80 percent.
