Timothy Lee Crabtree, 66
Jennings – Timothy Lee Crabtree passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born and raised in Muncie, Indiana, Timothy was the son of Robert LouAllen Crabtree (deceased, 2017) and Sharlene H. (Haggard) Crabtree, who resides in Muncie.
Timothy graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1977 and attended Ball State University. He worked at the Chevrolet plant in Muncie and at Delaware Country Club in the pro shop. With his former wife, Karen, Timothy co-founded Timothy’s Fine Jewelry in Anderson, Indiana and they had the business for 20 years. Their shared love for the business made the store a centerpiece of the local community—a place where families returned for generations to buy gifts and celebrate life’s milestones. Timothy’s career in the jewelry industry later took him to California, Florida, and Texas. His daughter Megan followed his path into the jewelry business, and she fondly remembers, “My dad was my greatest fan. He followed my career and didn’t skip a beat.”
Growing up, Tim’s kids were the apple of his eye. He is survived by his children, Brock (Ali) Crabtree and their daughter Camryn of Carmel, Indiana, and Megan Crabtree of Bonita Springs, Florida. He enjoyed quickly spoiling Camryn with jewelry. Timothy is also survived by his brothers, Jeffery (Kathleen) Crabtree of Gaston, Indiana, and Lonnie (Rhonda) Crabtree, as well as Joshua (Dr. Joy Matsui) Crabtree of Phoenix, Arizona; Darcy (Juan) Garza of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and their children Harper and Krue; and Rhonda’s children Michael, Shana, and Dustin, along with 15 grandchildren.
Timothy was always present for his children’s milestones—coaching their tee ball teams, ensuring the jewelry store sponsored their leagues, and supporting their dreams. He had a deep appreciation for the sun, the beaches of Florida, and a good plate of oysters. Timothy formed special friendships in Tennessee, including one friend he spoke with daily for years—her days will be quieter without his calls.
The family is seeking a loving home for his beloved dog, Zeus, who was Timothy’s loyal companion in his final years. Granting Zeus a new home would fulfill one of Timothy’s last wishes and honor his memory.
