TODDLER FOUND WANDERING ALONE ON BUSY PUTNAM HIGHWAY; LEFT DAYCARE UNNOTICED
A one-year-old child from Baxter, Tennessee, was discovered wandering alone down a street in Putnam County on Friday afternoon, prompting an investigation into a local daycare facility. The toddler, whose mother Theresa Martinez identified him as her son attending Totally Kidz child care center located at 5144 Nashville Highway, was found by an off-duty deputy.
Authorities, including the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, are examining how the young child managed to leave the daycare premises unsupervised and end up in the road, treating it as a serious lapse in supervision and safety protocols. Fortunately, the child was unharmed and safely returned.
The daycare is under official scrutiny as officials look into potential negligence or procedural failures at the center, though no charges or specific findings have been detailed publicly yet.
