TORNADO ANNIVERSARY, SNOW COMING

Sunday marks the 17th anniversary of the worst tornado on record in Cumberland County. November 10th 2002 an F3 tornado was on the ground for 12 miles across Cumberland County with four fatalities. Hardest hit were the Vandever and Lake Tansi areas. It had been an unusually warm day with temperatures in the 70s and the atmosphere became very unstable which allowed the supercell to develop and produce the tornado. This year we have no problems with Sunshine for Sunday and temperatures near 60 degrees. Showers are possible in the afternoon for Veterans Day with light snow expected Monday night and Tuesday morning, accumulation near an inch is possible. The high temperature on Tuesday only around the freezing mark and dropping to the teens Tuesday night. Temperatures will warm back up into the 50s by Friday and Saturday. The national high on Saturday was 94 at Palm Springs California and the low 2 below-zero at Mount Washington New Hampshire.
