TOWNSEND CRASH LEAVES TWO CRITICAL AFTER SATURDAY NIGHT COLLISION
Two individuals were airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in critical condition following a severe single-vehicle crash in Blount County on Saturday night.
According to the Townsend Area Volunteer Fire Department, emergency crews responded to the incident at 8:06 p.m. along East Lamar Alexander Parkway. Rescuers had to extract two trapped occupants from the wreckage.
Blount County AMR transported the victims to a designated landing zone at Peaceful Side Social Field, where Lifestar helicopters awaited to fly them for emergency medical treatment.
On Sunday, Lifestar released photos of the response scene and commended local first responders for their seamless teamwork during the critical rescue operation. Authorities have not yet released further updates regarding the current condition of the patients.
