A tractor-trailer accident on I-40 in western Putnam County yesterday claimed the life of the driver. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2020 Freightliner operated by 52-year-old Billy E. Holcomb of Soddy Daisy was traveling east at the 273 mile marker when he ran off the roadway and struck the Highway 56 overpass. Holcomb was pronounced deceased at the scene.
