TRAFFIC STOP FOR WRONG REGISTRATION FINDS FENTANYL
Yesterday, at around noon, Officer Stephen McNeal with the Crossville Police Department initiated a traffic stop on Miller Ave. on a white Nissan Pathfinder that had the wrong registration displayed. A registration that came back to a 1998 Honda Civic.
When asked for her driver’s license, she pulled a clear plastic bag containing foil bindles from her wallet and quickly tried to shove them back into her wallet.
The driver was identified as Jessica Leigh Vitatoe and said the narcotics belonged to another woman and she was taking them back to her.
A search of the car uncovered a makeup container containing .84 g of a white crystalline substance. The contents of the clear bag were one bindle of a yellow substance weighing .17 g, another bindle of a yellow powdery substance weighing .15 g, one bindle of a purple powdery substance weighing approximately .46 g, and one bindle with a burnt/red substance weighing .11 g.
The total weight of all narcotics seized was around 1.73 g and was believed to be fentanyl.
Vitatoe was placed into custody and transported by Officer Osmun to the Cumberland County Justice Center. She was charged with manufacturing, delivering, and selling a controlled substance.
