TRAFFIC STOP IN PUTNAM COUNTY LEADS TO FENTANYL EXPOSURE

From the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office:
On Friday, July 25, 2025, PCSO Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Black Ford Ranger traveling eastbound on 1-40, near mile marker 284, for failure to maintain lane.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Jonathan Steven Dickson, and a female passenger, later identified as Lisa Lobeda Harris. Dickson was unable to provide a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance and admitted that the vehicle did not belong to him. He also informed Deputies that he had seen drug paraphernalia in the passenger side floorboard earlier that day.
Harris was then asked to exit the vehicle and while she was exiting, Deputies observed a glass pipe with a clear tube in the passenger-side floorboard. Harris was then taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies asked Harris if she had any narcotics on her person and she said no, but she did state that there was Methamphetamine in the backseat of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 166 grams of Methamphetamine along with various drug paraphernalia.
Deputies transported both Dickson and Harris to the Putnam County Jail to be booked in. When Deputies went to remove Harris from the back of the patrol car, there was yellow powder on the backseat and on Harris’ person. When Deputies asked what this powder was, Harris admitted it was Fentanyl that she had been concealing on her person.
Sheriff Farris said, “This is an example of the dangers our Deputies can face on a daily basis, especially with the prevalence of Fentanyl, which is not only dangerous to users, but to anyone who comes in contact with it. Myself, and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, remain dedicated to protecting Putnam County by targeting drug distribution at every level.”
Sheriff Farris would also like to remind the public of the dangers of Fentanyl:
* Fentanyl is approximately 100 times more potent than Morphine and 50 times more potent than Heroin
* 2 milligrams of Fentanyl, about the size of a few grains of salt, is considered a lethal dose
* Fentanyl is the leading cause of drug-related deaths in the United States
Lisa Lobeda Harris was charged with Manufacture, Sell, Delivery of Fentanyl, Manufacture, Sell, Delivery of Methamphetamine, Fabricating/Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 4 counts of Reckless Endangerment due to knowingly exposing 4 Deputies to Fentanyl. Harris has a total bond of $226,500 and a court date of August 25, 2025.
Jonathan Steven Dickson was arrested and charged with Manufacture, Delivery, Sell of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphemalia, and Driving on Revoked License. Dickson has a total bond of $57,700 and a court date of August 25, 2025.
