TRAFFIC STOP ON HOWARD SPRINGS ROAD RESULTS IN DRUG CHARGES

Two Cumberland County deputies observed a black Chevrolet Suburban traveling north yesterday on Howard Springs Road.

The vehicle reportedly crossed over the center line at least four times.

The driver, 52-year-old Anthony Lillard Terry of Crossville, was pulled over on the 2000th block of Howard Springs Road.

Terry was asked to exit the Suburban which he complied.

The arrest report states deputies observed Terry unsteady on his feet and his actions were slow and lethargic.

While one deputy administered a field sobriety test to Terry, the other officer allegedly saw a plastic clear container in the Suburban with two bags of marijuana inside.

When asked if there was anything else illegal in the automobile, Terry reportedly said he didn’t think his meth pipe was in there.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed 57 oxycodone, 12 alprazolam, and 27 clonazepam pills. A black nylon case was reportedly discovered containing $11,040.

Terry was charged with the manufacture, sale, and delivery of a controlled substance, simple possession of drugs, and DUI. He was taken to the Cumberland County jail and placed under bonds totaling $49,000.
