TRAFFIC STOP UNCOVERS 14 GRAMS OF SUSPECTED FENTANYL IN PUTNAM COUNTY
On Thursday, April 9, 2026, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver, Tara Rodgers, was found to have a revoked driver’s license and was taken into custody. A search of her person uncovered approximately 14 grams of suspected fentanyl. Rodgers was transported to the Putnam County Jail, where she faces charges of Manufacture, Delivery, and Sale of Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License. Her bond was set at $43,500, with a court date scheduled for April 15, 2026.
Sheriff Farris commented on the arrest, stating that illegal drug activity will not be tolerated in Putnam County. He emphasized that deputies will continue working daily to keep dangerous substances like methamphetamine and fentanyl off the streets and to protect the families in the community.
