Hazardous Weather Outlook: Hot temperatures can be expected today, with a heat index reaching between 100 and 105 in southern and central portions of the Tennessee Valley this afternoon.

Hot temperatures will build into the Tennessee Valley this week, especially Wednesday through Friday. Heat index values are expected to be between 100 and 105 in parts of the Southern and Central Valley and Sequatchie Valley each day. On Wednesday through Friday, heat index values may exceed 105 in some locations of the Southern Valley.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Light north wind becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66. North northeast wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 90. East northeast wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 91. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 91. West wind around 10 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. West wind around 5 mph.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.
