TUESDAY’S 5-DAY FORECAST

Winds will die down a touch this morning, but will still be breezy enough to keep the wind advisory going until midnight. Plenty of rain is expected with this system with current forecast rainfall totals anywhere from 1 to 2 inches. Cooler air will filter in behind the system, helping to pump out some snowflakes. The greatest chance of seeing any accumulation will be on the Cumberland Plateau, but it wouldn’t be a lot.

Tuesday: Showers before 3pm, then a chance of showers after 5pm. Temperature rising to near 51 by 10am, then falling to around 41 during the remainder of the day. Windy, with a south southeast wind 15 to 25 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers before 8pm, then a chance of snow showers between 8pm and 5am. Cloudy, with a low around 28. Windy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Wednesday: Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 40. West southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 29. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 50. Southwest wind around 10 mph.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. South southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 51. Windy, with a south southeast wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Friday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers before midnight, then a slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Windy, with a west southwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 33.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18.
