Hazardous Weather Outlook for Middle Tennessee: Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday through Tuesday night, especially for locations south of the I-40 corridor. Strong to damaging winds will be main threat with isolated tornadoes also possible. Localized flooding may develop where heaviest downpours occur.

Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Tennessee Valley: A strong storm system will affect the area Tuesday and Wednesday. High winds with gusts above 50 mph are likely in and near the mountains early Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon. Also, locally heavy rainfall and isolated flooding will be possible, mainly south of Interstate 40. And finally, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday into Tuesday evening, mainly in southeast Tennessee and the Cumberland Plateau.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. High near 65. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 5am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5am. Low around 57. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9am, then a chance of showers between 9am and noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. West southwest wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 47. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. West wind around 5 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. West northwest wind around 5 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Calm wind.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47.

Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.
