TWO ARRESTED ON FEDERAL WARRANTS AFTER POLICE CHASE NEAR MONTEREY

Two individuals wanted by federal authorities were arrested after a police chase early this morning. The pursuit started in Monterey on I-40 when officers attempted to stop a white Nissan Sentra. Police say the driver, Amanda Beeler, reached speed in excess of 120 miles per hour before he crashed at the 294 mile marker. Beeler and a passenger in the vehicle, Michael Ayers, were both taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Beeler had an active federal warrant for weapons possession. She was also charged with evading arrest, reckless endangerment, possession of meth, and driving without a license. The passenger, Michael Ayers, also had an active federal warrant for possession of a weapon.
