TWO CHARGED WITH OVER 30 COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED ANIMAL CRUELTY

Law enforcement says two individuals are facing charges following an investigation into alleged animal abuse in Hickman County, Tennessee.

The sheriff’s office received a complaint about the alleged abuse. Upon investigation, executed a search warrant at a home in the Grey’s Bend area.

Deputies found several malnourished and even some dead animals in the home.

They were able to rescue over 30 animals from the home.

Officers arrested 35-year-old Omar Truss and 29-year-old Stephanie Truss. Both are charged with 34 counts of aggravated animal cruelty and 3 counts of child abuse or neglect.

“Thanks to the individuals who reported this information to us. Because you went above and beyond, these furry friends are now removed from that situation. A special thanks to Hickman County Humane Society and Horse Plus Humane Society out of Hohenwald for relocating the animals and providing care. Stephanie Truss was also charged with theft over $2,500 in an unrelated case,” said the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office.
