Micronics Engineered Filtration Group and Team Title Services have announced plans to move their respective operations to Chattanooga. The two companies are relocating to 1201 Riverfront Parkway, the site formerly occupied by turbine manufacturer Alstom, now owned by Urban Story Ventures.

Officials of Urban Story Ventures say the move will attract a total of 220 jobs to the area. “Micronics has a first class reputation in the filtration industry around the world,” said USV co-owner Jimmy White. “And Team Title chose to launch and grow their business in Chattanooga on the riverfront. Both are tremendous partners to help us kick off the revitalization of the riverfront.”

White said bringing good-paying jobs back to the riverfront was their primary objective when he and Hiren Desai acquired the property.

Micronics, headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, makes filtration products and equipment and maintains additional production facilities in the northeastern U.S., Mexico and England. The company expects to start production this summer; they plan to employ 140 people in 56,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space.

Glenn Gertridge, Micronics’ vice president of operations, said Chattanooga is one of the best cities to grow a manufacturing business. He said the new filter media-manufacturing facility will enhance the company’s ability to exceed customer expectations and minimize delivery time. “It ensures our company has the manufacturing capacity to support increased demand across the world,” Gertridge added.

Team Title, which opened in December 2018 and has more than doubled in size in the ensuing four months, provides soup-to-nuts support during the home-buying and commercial property-development process. They chose the riverfront site for their headquarters. Currently, 23 employees are working from temporary space; another 10 work from satellite locations, and the company anticipates adding an additional 50 jobs once they get settled into their new digs.

Team Title CEO Web Raulston said the company is quickly expanding its operations in the coming years and having a facility that can accommodate the anticipated growth is key. “As a hub-and-spoke model, it is important to us that our headquarters convey the same vision that we have for our company as a whole – high-tech, customer service-driven and transparent.”

Team Title will occupy 20,000 square feet to office space. The staff is working in an adjacent building while their space is being built out.

And, as he’s watched the renaissance of the overall riverfront area, Raulston is confident they’ve chosen the right location for the company’s growth. “We were exposed to the vision for the development from early on,” he said, adding he believes, “it will be the next great thing for the City of Chattanooga.”
