TWO DEAD AFTER ATF AGENTS INVOLVED IN NASHVILLE SHOOTING
Two people are dead following a double-fatal shooting involving federal ATF agents during an operation along Landers Avenue in South Nashville on Thursday.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident began around 1:11 p.m. when ATF agents conducting an enforcement action were fired upon. Officials stated that an agent returned fire, killing one person. During the ensuing confrontation, another individual pointed a gun at an agent and was subsequently shot and killed.
The ATF confirmed that the scene has been secured and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), requested by District Attorney General Glenn Funk, is actively leading the independent investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
