TWO FOUND GUILTY OF AGGRAVATED ROBBERY IN ROANE COUNTY

District Attorney General Russell Johnson’s Office tried Michael Douglas and Marquis McReynolds in a multi-count indictment stemming from the Especially Aggravated Robbery of Richard Christian and Katylin Myers in November 2020.
On November 17, 2020, Douglas (Christian’s first cousin) accompanied by McReynolds went to Mr. Christian’s residence on Woody Avenue in Harriman, TN. Ms. Myers and Mr. Christian were planning to watch movies and play video games that night when Douglas called asking Mr. Christian to cut his hair. Mr. Christian agreed to give him a haircut in his barber room. After Mr. Christian cut Douglas’s hair, Douglas pulled a gun on Mr. Christian while McReynolds forced Ms. Myers out of the bedroom and into the barber room. Douglas held Mr. Christian and Ms. Myers at gunpoint face down on the floor after shooting Mr. Christian in the legs. While Mr. Christian and Ms. Myers were held at gunpoint by Douglas, McReynolds ransacked the house looking for items to steal. Douglas and McReynolds stole jewelry, clothing, a car key, and a cellphone from the residence. McReynolds then took the gun from Douglas and held it on Mr. Christian and Ms. Myers while Douglas attempted to steal Mr. Christian’s vehicle.
The jury found Douglas guilty of:
  • Especially Aggravated Robbery (A felony),
