TWO PUPPIES TESTED POSITIVE FOR COCAINE AFTER MT. JULIET PURSUIT

Last week, the Mt. Juliet Police Department was in pursuit of a ‘09 Nissan Rogue that was stolen from Nashville on 2/11 during an armed robbery. After using spike strips, the car stopped when it became disabled near Old Hickory Blvd and I-40.
All three occupants, 2 adult males, and 1 adult female were arrested. They are also all wanted for various charges in Nashville and Rutherford County.
Other items in the car lead to further criminal activity that is under investigation.
Meth and marijuana were found in the SUV, and one suspect stated he swallowed fentanyl during the pursuit. He is being checked by medics. Two puppies were also in the SUV.
The day after the pursuit, Animal Control officers located plastic baggy material in one of the puppy’s stools. Both puppies were then rushed to the veterinarian for a comprehensive exam, and both tested positive for cocaine. The driver of the vehicle and dog owner, 22-year-old Shanchez Beddingfield of Nashville, was charged further with aggravated animal cruelty & evidence tampering.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police, the pups are doing fine.
