TYPICAL SUMMER WEATHER

Look for low temperatures near 62 degrees and it’s going to be another quiet weather night. Friday is looking partly cloudy with a 30% chance of a pop-up thunderstorm and the high in the low to mid-80s for the plateau. Chances of a storm increase to 50% on Saturday. The biggest meteor shower of the year is coming up next Thursday night and I will be telling you more about that this week. The national high today was 122 at Death Valley California and the low was 33 at Peter Sinks Utah. Did you know that there is more cloud-to-ground lightning in August than any other month in Tennessee? There have been four lightning fatalities in the United States this summer, two were playing golf and two were on the beach. If you can hear thunder you should move inside immediately because summer storms can move over your area very quickly.
