The affected medication is distributed nationwide by Rising Pharma Holdings Inc. in 100-count HDPE bottles (NDC: 16571-401-10). The issue was first identified by a pharmacy technician who noticed discolored tablets featuring multiple red dots during dispensing.

While no adverse events have been reported to date, consuming tablets contaminated with ranitidine poses a severe risk to individuals with ranitidine hypersensitivity. Potential adverse events include life-threatening allergic reactions, facial and throat edema, severe difficulty breathing, severe drop in blood pressure (hypotension), rashes, and loss of consciousness.
