UPDATE: AT&T CELLULAR OUTAGE CAUSED BY “PLANNED MAINTENANCE/BEING OPTIMIZED”
This is an update to a previous story posted on 3B Media News this morning.
AT&T took to social media today after a widespread outage of their cellular network left customers frustrated and spilled across to other carriers.
AT&T said that the interruptions were caused by a “planned maintenance/being optimized” and said they are working “urgently” to restore service.
AT&T urges customers to use wi-fi calling where possible.
Other cellular carriers such as Verizon and T-Mobile are showing outage spikes, but not as severe as AT&T’s.
In a statement released by AT&T late this morning, the company said three-quarters of its customers have had cellphone service restored.
“Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning. Our network teams took immediate action and so far three-quarters of our network has been restored. We are working as quickly as possible to restore service to remaining customers.”
