VEHICLE ACCIDENT RESULTS IN SHOOTING IN MCMINN COUNTY

Law enforcement in McMinn County responded to a vehicle accident yesterday at the intersection of County Road 100 and 110.

Officers arrived to find Daniel Ferguson, from Meigs County, suffering from a head wound at a nearby home and taken to a hospital.

Authorities say charges are pending on Ferguson.

Officers later found Kelsey Roberts and Tommy Conn in a nearby wooded area.

Conn sustained a gunshot wound in the altercation. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities say charges are pending on Conn.

Roberts was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.

Initial reports indicate Ferguson was assaulted. At some point, Ferguson shot Conn. McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy said the incident was related to the vehicle crash. Guy added it may also involve drug issues. Officers recovered a large quantity of narcotics at the scene.

A fourth individual, believed to be Peyton Adam Womac, was not found at the scene. Officers believe someone picked up Womac not long after the crash.
