Velma Doris Dugger Reeves, age 96, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., passed away on at Viva Senior Living.
She was born February 4, 1929, to the late William Albert “Buster” Dugger, Sr. and Gladys “Gem” DeRossett Dugger.
Velma married James Thomas “Buddy” Reeves, Sr. on March 10, 1950, in Walker County, Ga.
In addition to her parents and husband, Velma was preceded in death by three brothers: William Albert “Bill” Dugger, Jr. and wife, Margaret Hobbs Dugger; Harold Eugene Dugger and wife, Marie Catherine Rider Dugger; and James “Jimmy” Donald Dugger, Sr. and wife, Anna Lou Peters Dugger. Additionally Velma was preceded in death by her step son, James Thomas “Sonny” Reeves, Jr. and his wife, Judy Newman Reeves.
Velma is survived by several nieces and nephews and her step granddaughter, Amanda Reeves Perry and husband, Matthew Perry, of Abingdon, Va.
A private committal service will be held and Velma will be interred at Roane Memorial Gardens. Kyker Funeral Home of Harriman is serving the Reeves Family.
