WATTS BAR, DALE HOLLOW AND CENTER HILL FISHING REPORT – SEPT. 3, 2020
WATTS BAR
Reservoir Conditions: The lake is at normal level. The water temperature is 84 degrees.
Crappie: Most crappie are being caught at night while fishing around lights. Minnows are the better bait. Fish near bluff walls or docks. Troll creek channels with crankbaits or shoot docks with jigs.
Bass: Fish channel cuts where the current has a greater influence. Fish at night. Fish around grass beds. Topwater lures, plastic worms, and crankbaits are good.
Catfish: Fishing is good. Drift in the main channel with meaty baits when the current is present.
Bluegill: Fish around docks or along rock bluffs. Use worms or crickets for bait.
Striped Bass: Use shad or artificial lures in the tailwater or upper river.
Walleye: A few fish are being caught at night. The tailwater is fished more than other places for walleye. Live bait and artificial lures are being used.
DALE HOLLOW
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is good. The water temperature is 81 degrees and the lake is rising.
Bass: Several bass are being caught on topwater baits while fish are chasing shad on the main lake.
Walleye: Several are being caught while trolling nightcrawlers on flats in 32 feet of water on the main lake.
CENTER HILL
Reservoir Conditions: Fishing is good. The water temperature is 83 degrees and the lake is falling.
Bass: Several are being caught on drop shots and topwater baits while fish are schooling under shad.
Walleye: A few walleye are being caught while trolling nightcrawlers on flats in 26 feet of water.
