WHITE COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL DISMISSES EARLY AFTER BOMB THREAT AND STUDENT DETAINED

Update 2: WCMS students are safe. Due to the length of time that law enforcement needs to follow their protocols, WCMS will release students at 10:15 AM. Busses will run and the school will follow the students’ early dismissal form. Parent pick-up will follow the normal route, but pick up at the back of the building. If you are unable to pick up your student at this time, please let the WCMS front office know. Students will remain supervised with food and water until 3 pm. All belongings will remain in the building until 8 am tomorrow. If you need a belonging today, you may return at 3 pm.
Update 1: by White County Schools: WCMS is safe. Authorities have detained a student. The school will remain in a soft lockdown – no visitors on campus. WCHS will also stay on a soft lockdown out of an abundance of caution.
The original post by White County Schools reads: The White County Sheriff’s office has requested we place White County Middle School on lockdown due to a potential bomb threat. We will remain in lockdown until further notice. No one will be allowed in or out of the building. Law enforcement is on the scene.
