William “Bill” Withers Poling age 85 of Harriman, Tennessee passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025 at his home.

Bill loved gunsmithing and working on cars. He enjoyed going on cruises and listening to classical music. Bill was a proud veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. During the war, Bill enjoyed being stationed in Japan and worked as an airplane mechanic.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bronson and Mary Withers Hooker Poling.

Bill survives by his wife, Diane Poling; daughter, Shannon Flaherty; grandchildren, Andrew Lang (Nicole); Catherine Murphy (Brandon), Christina Taylor (Ethan) and Tyler Manning (Liz); great grandchildren, Lillian Taylor, Rosie Martinez, Amelia Murphy and Alexandar Lang; his beloved cats, Oliver and Tucker.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Michael Sweeney officiating. Military honors and the inurnment to follow in the service at the church.
