Wind Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for most of Middle Tennessee from 6:00 PM this evening to 6:00 AM CST Tuesday. This includes Cumberland County, Overton County, Pickett County, White County, Fentress County, Van Buren County and Putnam County in the 3B Media News coverage area.
Southeast winds 15 to 25 with gusts around 45 mph expected. Although most of Middle Tennessee has potential for wind gusts over 40 mph, areas southeast of Nashville and along the Cumberland Plateau will have the greatest risk for strong gusts, potentially reaching 50 mph in some spots. These locations will also have the longest duration of gusty winds, lasting through most of the night.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
