WIND ADVISORY ISSUED FOR MIDDLE AND EAST TENNESSEE
The National Weather Service has issued Wind Advisories for portions of Middle and East Tennessee beginning early Wednesday.
In Middle Tennessee, including Cumberland, Fentress, and Pickett counties, the advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. CDT Thursday. South winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.
In the East Tennessee Mountains, including the Blount Smoky Mountains and Southeast Monroe County, the advisory begins at 2 a.m. Wednesday and continues through 8 a.m. EDT Thursday. Wind gusts there could reach up to 50 mph.
Forecasters warn that gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, knock down tree limbs, and potentially cause a few power outages. Driving may be hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles. Residents are urged to use extra caution.
