WOMAN ARRESTED TODAY FOR THREATENING TO KILL MARSHA BLACKBURN

On August 28, 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Middle Tennessee announced the arrest of 22-year-old Penelope Convertino for allegedly threatening to kill Senator Marsha Blackburn. According to authorities, Convertino left a threatening voicemail at Blackburn’s Nashville office on May 30, 2025, in which she explicitly stated her intent to shoot and kill the senator, including graphic threats of violence on national television.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Convertino, and she now faces charges for threatening to murder a federal official, which carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted. Acting U.S. Attorney Robert E. McGuire emphasized that such violent threats against public officials are unacceptable and will be met with swift accountability. The FBI is continuing its investigation, with McGuire prosecuting the case.
