WOMAN FOUND WITH TWO CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

During a traffic stop Wednesday, a Cumberland County officer pulled over a Honda Civic on Interstate 40 eastbound.  While making contact with the driver identified as 33-year-old Shara Griffith/Williams of Cookeville, she had a suspended driver’s license. The deputies noticed the male in the passenger side of the car was acting suspiciously. After giving consent to search the car, deputies identified the male subject to be 37-year-old- Jonathan Iwanyszyn who had two active Capias warrants out of Putnam County.

A backpack was found with two catalytic converters. Ms. Williams alleged her friend J.T. cut them off of his own vehicle and left them inside her car and she had forgotten they were in there. She could not provide proof for the converters.

It is unknown at this time if the converters are from an active theft case.

Jonathan Iwanyszyn was placed under arrest.

Shara Williams was cited for driving on a suspended driver’s license and illegal possession of catalytic converters.
