WOMAN ON ELECTRIC SCOOTER KILLED ON I-140 EARLY TUESDAY MORNING

Knoxville, TN –   A woman riding an electric scooter on I-140 West/Pellissippi Parkway, was hit by a vehicle and killed Tuesday morning, officials with the Knoxville Police Department said.

The crash happened around 4:40 a.m. KPD officials were not able to say why the woman was on an interstate while driving an electric scooter, but did say that the owner of the car involved stayed on scene.
The crash is under investigation.
