YAMAHA RECALLS 352,000 GOLF CARS; FAULTY ACCELERATOR

Yamaha Golf Car Company has expanded a recall involving approximately 352,000 golf cars, personal transportation vehicles, and UMAX vehicles from model years 2016 to 2024 due to a crash hazard caused by a faulty accelerator pedal spring that may fail to return to idle when released.
This recall builds on previous recalls from 2018, 2022, and 2023, covering models such as Drive, Drive2, Adventurer, and UMAX, sold in various colors at Yamaha dealers nationwide from July 2015 to December 2024 for $5,970 to $13,220. The remedy involves a free replacement of the accelerator pedal return spring assembly, and Yamaha is contacting registered owners to schedule repairs, with dealers offering mobile service or unit transportation if needed.
Consumers should immediately stop using the affected vehicles, even if previously repaired, and contact Yamaha at 866-747-4027 or online at https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/Content.php?cpsc-recalls for more information. Yamaha has reported 2,200 incidents of spring failures but no injuries. The vehicles were manufactured in the United States and Japan.
