1.5 MILLION UNITS OF ANGRY ORANGE RECALLED FOR BACTERIAL CONTAMINATION
The Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Removers have been recalled due to potential contamination with bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a common environmental organism present in soil and water. This poses a serious infection risk primarily to individuals with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions, as the bacteria could enter the body through inhalation, eye contact, or breaks in the skin; healthy individuals are generally not affected.
The recall, announced on January 22, 2026, involves approximately 1.5 million units sold in the United States (plus about 43,700 in Canada) of the Fresh Clean Scent and Orange Twist Scent versions in 24-oz, 32-oz, and 1-gallon sizes. These products feature orange and white bottles labeled “Angry Orange” and “Stain & Odor Remover,” with some sold in bundles including a UV light attachment. They were distributed nationwide from March 2019 through December 2025 at retailers such as Walmart, Target, The Home Depot, Meijer, Staples, TJ Maxx, and online via Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, AngryOrange.com, and Chewy.com, priced between $4 and $60.
No incidents or injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the products and contact Thrasio (the distributor) for a full refund by emailing a photo of the product marked “recalled” with their initials to [email protected]; afterward, dispose of the item in its original container in household trash without emptying it or attempting to recycle the bottle.
