1 INJURED IN HO– USE EXPLOSION; STATE FIRE MARSHAL TO INVESTIGATE
Details remain sketchy at this time concerning a house explosion which took place in Cumberland County Monday night. Firefighters were called to 266 Roma Drive in Foxfire Sub-division shortly after 8:35 PM where some type of gas explosion rocked the home. The concussion was felt from Walmart to the Cumberland Homesteads. Assistant Fire Chief John Hall told 1057 News Tuesday morning that preliminary investigations are not yet in. However, it is said that the home is owned by Jay and Tonya Colton. Family members say that Tonya and her daughter were uninjured. However, Jay Colton reportedly received serious burns and was transported to the hospital. Assistant Chief Hall stated that County Fire Investigator Scott Griffin is looking into the incident and that State Fire Marshals are scheduled to come in Tuesday to conduct further investigations. Hall said that 32 firefighters were utilized with 7 units coming from the county and 1 unit from Crossville.
