11-YEAR-OLD KILLED, TWO INJURED IN CLAY COUNTY SHOOTING
The TBI continues to look for a motive for a shooting that left a child dead and two injured in Clay County yesterday. The incident unfolded when a school bus driver stopped at a home on North Fork Road to pick up two girls. The driver found an uninjured child and a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and drove them to the Mt. Vernon Fire Department to get help.
When deputies arrived at the residence, they found the body of 11-year-old Harley Evans and a man who had been shot but was still alive.
The suspect in the shootings, 29-year-old Jacob Stanley Snyder, was found after a two-hour manhunt. He was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first degree murder. Snyder was taken to the Clay County Jail and placed under $2 million bond.
