The report says the driver was heading south on 127 South near the entrance to the Cumberland Mountain State Park and was in a high-speed pursuit by the THP Patrol unit at 1:44 am. The driver lost control of his 2016 Toyota Corolla on the curve, overcorrected and sped off the highway crashing into a tree. The car was split in half by the impact with part of the car coming to rest at the concrete Park entrance and the rest of the car coming to rest against a tree.
