18-YEAR-OLD INJURED IN I-40 WRECK IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

On October 16, 2025, at approximately 12:07 a.m., an 18-year-old driver from South Carolina, Kareem Tysjay Jackson, was involved in a single-vehicle crash while operating a 2012 Dodge Charger westbound on Interstate 40 at mile marker 308 in Cumberland County.
Jackson, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained injuries and faces pending charges following the investigation. According to the THP’s report, the vehicle sideswiped a guardrail on the left side of the roadway, then crossed both lanes before veering off the right shoulder to its final resting position.
No additional vehicles or passengers were reported.
