A woman from Gainesboro has been charged following a multi-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 40 Wednesday night. The Tennessee Highway patrol says 19-year-old Burnett Hunter was stopped on the interstate at mile marker 297 near Monterey, when she attempted to use a crossover to turn around and was struck by another vehicle. The resulting crash caused a chain reaction involving four other vehicles. Troopers said that three individuals received treatment at Cookeville Regional Hospital. Hunter was charged with failure to exercise due-care and financial responsibility.
