Two police officers were shot in a gun battle in Kingsport Thursday afternoon. Officers were visiting a home for a warrant service when the suspect, who has not been identified, barricaded himself inside. Law enforcement then surrounded the condominium and also called in a SWAT Team. The report said that the shots were exchanged around 4:45 PM. The officer’s wounds did not appear to be life-threatening at the time the report was filed.  Police were able to take the suspect into custody just over an hour later. No further information was given.
