2 PUTNAM COUNTY SCHOOLS PLACED ON LOCKDOWN DURING INVESTIGATION
Putnam County Authorities placed two county schools on lockdown Tuesday morning during a search for a person-of-interest in a murder investigation. Cookeville Police Investigators assisted the Metro Nashville Cold Case Squad who had responded to a home off North Washington Avenue in connection with a murder which took place on December 27, 2017. The scene was secured and as a precautionary measure, Jere Whitson Elementary and Cookeville High School were both placed on soft lockdown. Authorities did not reveal the name of the suspect or give further details about the case.
